For some students, the path to earning a college degree isn’t a straight line as they juggle responsibilities and competing demands. Chau “Casey” Nguyen’s journey took nearly 25 years. This fall, her persistence will be rewarded as she graduates with a bachelor’s degree in General Business Studies.

At the age of two, Barbara Figueredo moved to the U.S. from Venezuela after her family left the country due to the political turmoil that continues today. Coming to America and learning English at a young age made her want to pursue an Education degree.
